NFL Week 7 Preview
This is my NFL Week 7 Preview Post! I will do these weekly, every Saturday before the games. I will provide a rundown on each team, then my pick and why I picked them.
Alright, enough chatter. Let’s get to the games.
Also at this point in the season my record is 61-29 at picking games.
One more thing. * means this is my “Game of the Week”. ** means upset pick alert!
Chicago Bears at Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals showed last week that they were a fluke after losing to the Texans. Their defense is playing better, but if Jay Cutler has a good game, the Bear’s defense will stop the Bengals run attack. Pick: Bears
Green Bay Packers at Cleveland Browns
This should be an easy win for Aaron Rodgers and company. Ryan Grant should get a lot of carries here, while the Browns won’t be able to stopĀ the run or the pass. Pick: Packers
San Fransisco 49ers at Houston Texans
With Frank Gore back from his ankle injury and Michael Crabtree debuting, the 49ers should win here if the Texans run defense crumbles. Pick: 49ers
San Diego Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs
Even though Kansas City won last week, it was on 4 field goals and a safety versus the Redskins. They’ll be facing a much better offense in the Chargers with Philip Rivers leading the way to a dominating victory. Pick: Chargers
Minnesota Vikings at Pittsburgh Steelers *
The Vikings barely got by the Ravens last week. They also have been facing mostly poor teams. The Steelers’ run defense should stop Adrian Peterson and the return of Troy Polamalu should pump up the secondary and demoralize Brett Favre. Pick: Steelers
Indianapolis Colts at St. Louis Rams
This is obvious. Peyton MAnning will destroy the Rams hapless secondary and Joseph Addai will run over the d-line. Pick: Colts
New England Patriots at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
If the turf at Wembley stops the running game, look for Tom Brady to have another monster day through the air. The Buccaneers are just not ready to compete. Pick: Patriots
Buffalo Bills at Carolina Panthers
The Panthers should ride their running game to a tough win, but if their pass defense fails, Buffalo might win. Pick: Panthers
New York Jets at Oakland Raiders
Coming off a tough 3 game losing streak, the Jets should use newly acquired wideout Braylon Edwards and Mark Sanchez to rebound off a tough win. The Raiders’s defense stuffed the Eagles last week, and could possibly do it again. However, with Jamarcus Russell still playing poorly, look for the Jets to take advantage of that. Pick: Jets
Atlanta Falcons at Dallas Cowboys
The glamour of their new stadium has worn off on the Cowboys, and it’s obvious they are not good enough right now. The Falcons will use their offensive pass-run combo and run defense to stop the Cowboys cold and prove they are for real. Pick: Falcons
New Orleans Saints at Miami Dolphins
The Saints showed that they were a force to be reckoned with last week after dominating the Giants offensively and defensively. Drew Brees will pick apart the Dolphins’ secondary and take the win home. Pick: Saints
Arizona Cardinals at New York Giants
The Giants secondary was exposed last week, but Kurt Warner is not Drew Brees. Ahmad Bradshaw and Eli Manning should lead the Giants to a win over a better than average Cardinals team. Pick: Giants
Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Redskins
The Redskins are theĀ NFL’s new laughingstock, what with quarterback Jason Campbell being benched last week and the coaching controversy. They have a strong defense, which is about the only bright spot on a team that can’t protect its quarterback or score points. The Eagles will have an easy win in a disappointing Monday night game. Pick: Eagles
There you have it! Monday I’ll recap the week and Thursday I’ll release my Power Rankings.
